“Luke rolls into the gym on his wheelchair. As soon as he comes in he stares at the 25- foot climbing walls in front of him. He’s had Cerebral Palsy for all of his life, which is why he has trouble with movement. He is able to communicate his feelings as well as express his thoughts. He knows words like “cold” and “freezing,” which will mean he’s going to have a seizure.
He has been in Peak Potential for several weeks already. What is Peak Potential?
It’s an organization completely made up of volunteers that helps physically and mentally disabled children of all ages rock climb. It’s one of the few organizations in the country that helps disabled children through sports. Here’s a video of what Peak is all about:
